A total garden makeover for Mr and Mrs M. Like the majority of gardens in the High Wycombe area this slopes as much as 45 degrees in some places. At such angles they're almost impossible to mow and when it rains torrents of water gush down towards the house.
The best solution is to create sequences of steps and landings which is what Acorn Landscaping did on this project. As you can see from the before and after pictures, the first job was to lay a paved patio in front of the house and then create a brick and flint wall with seating and natural stone paved steps leading to the first landing which was laid to lawn as an area for the children to play.
Each side of the steps was backfilled to create flower beds. At the back of the lawn another set of steps and a retaining wall was constructed from machine rounded timber leading to a further levelled landing retained by railway sleepers.
